UPDATE FROM FOX VALLEY LUTHERAN HS


Soccer

The boys soccer team had to cancel 7 games due to quarantine, but defeated Xavier in the regional opener 4-2. They lost to Seymour 3-1 in the regional championship.

  • First team all-conference honors went to Gavin Rehberg, Addison Fett, and Owen Selle.
  • Riley Ninmann earned 2nd team recognition.
  • Collin Huza and Blake Maxwell were named honorable mention.

Fall Athletics Update

Tennis

In girls tennis, sophomore No. 1 singles player Olivia Pethan advanced to state. She bowed out in the consolation round after exciting initial wins.

  • Pethan was named 1st team all-conference
  • Macey Schaetz received 2nd team honors

The girls and boys cross country teams ran well all season. Both finished high in conference. The girls placed 2nd and the boys 3rd. Luke Donart qualified for the state meet.

  • First team all-conference honors went to Luke Donart, Caleb Zernicke, Olivia Krahn, and Anika Tollerud.
  • Alexa Gordee, Drew Homan, and Logan Boehm earned 2nd team spots.
  • Kristin Donart and Emma Otto were named honorable mention.

Volleyball

Girls volleyball sprinted to an 11-0 season start and ended up facing undefeated and eventual state champion Lux-Casco for the conference championship. In WIAA tourney play, they took the regional championship for the second consecutive year, and later fell to Sauk Prairie in the sectional final in four close sets.

  • Kennedy Schmitz and Holly Malkowski, were unanimous 1st team all-conference picks. Joining them on the 1st team was Mickenzi Benter.
  • Samantha Kempinger and Cassie Patchett were chosen to the 2nd team.

The Foxes enjoyed a big win at Homecoming, topping Marinette 44-7. They also upset top-ranked Freedom and qualified for the WIAA playoffs.

  • Unanimous 1st team all-conference honors went to Cody Thelen and Brendan Schulz. Joining them as a 1st team pick was Drew Mears (QB & Punter).
  • Schulz was also named the conference's Offensive Back of the Year.
  • Second team recognition went to defensive back Cole Aerts and wide receiver Parker Knoll.
  • Knoll also was named honorable mention as a defensive back. Joining him as honorable mention selections were Seth Voeller, Luke Movrich, Eli Retzlaff, and Isaac Knoll.

Post-Print Update

The Foxes football season enjoyed a successful post-season run as play was brought to a close by the WIAA due to a spike in COVID cases. In the shortened playoffs, the Foxes won their "POD" with a victory over Kewaskum 17-14.
