As enrollment numbers soared this past summer, quick action had to be taken to address the immediate need for more lockers. This need was temporarily met when a bank of gray lockers was rented and installed in the Technology hallway. Playfully nicknamed "the banished ones" by their classmates, the seniors who were assigned to these lockers do admit to feeling isolated. They lament that the lockers are smaller and less attractive than those enjoyed by the majority of the students. “It’s a whole different world down there!” states one senior. While the lockers used by “the banished ones” are temporary, our growing enrollment and need for a permanent solution are not. Projections indicate that FVL’s enrollment could surpass 800 as early as 2025. Therefore, in the summer of 2023, we will fill in the pit areas and line those walls with 88 additional lockers, raising our enrollment capacity to 831. We are currently seeking bids for this project and have already secured $80,000 in matching funds.
