In School All Year

Thankful Students & Parents
“It’s a tribute to our parents, students, faculty, and staff,” says Loberger. “We didn’t know what the 2020-21 year would look like, but we were committed to make in-person learning a priority. It's what our parents wanted, what our teachers wanted, and what our students wanted.” Despite the bumps along the way with both faculty and students missing time due to isolations and quarantines, school has been in session all year long. Loberger noted, “I’m surprised at how many students and parents have thanked me that they can come to school, work with their teachers, and be in the classroom.”
Questions from Community Parents
Loberger has also found that COVID has opened the door to speaking to many parents in the community. “They ask me how FVL is able to make this work.” As a Christian private school, the leadership was able to make decisions and take steps quickly while, at the same time, focusing on the health and safety of all involved. The school calendar and daily schedules were adjusted, new HVAC filtration was installed, and needed COVID protocols were put in place.
Family Open House March 29
Loberger is excited about the upcoming FVL Family Open House on March 29 from 6-9 pm. This event has been reformatted with COVID safety protocols so that those interested in learning more about FVL can be on campus. Tours, brief presentations, and a chance to meet FVL leaders will be featured. Due to COVID, visitors are being asked to register at fvlhs.org so that health and safety guidelines can be followed. "Parents tell me (Loberger) they love what FVL offers for students of all interests and ability levels . . . whether it’s continuing their education or going into the trades.” Opportunities abound at FVL. More than 50 college credit courses are offered. The school features an award-winning STEM Academy. Both Woods and Metal Shops are on campus. For automotive training, FVL partners with Fox Valley Technical College. A state-of-the-art Biomedical Lab was added in 2019. Plus a full slate of extracurricular clubs, activities, and sports is offered. Loberger concluded, "We’re celebrating the fact that our students have been on campus in this crazy year—learning of their Savior and learning their class work. "
